A computer program that would provide alerts to Harrison residents directly from the police department was recently discussed by the city’s law committee. Police Chief Chuck Lindsey wants the committee to take a hard look at Citizens’ Observer, a software program the city would purchase, and to which residents would subscribe at no cost through the police to obtain direct messages from the department. “The police department would have the ability to send out text messages, alerts, photographs - all kinds of information on crime that may be going on in our city,” Lindsey told the committee Tuesday, June 19.
