Editor:
The Harrison Recreation Commission hopes that everyone who participated in the Fourth of July events had a great time.
Even thought it was an extremely hot day, our parade went very well. I thank everyone who was in the parade or who came to watch.
We especially thank our grand marshal, Police Chief Col. Chuck Lindsey  for his service to our country and his continued service to our community.
Our community is fortunate to have someone of his caliber as police chief.
The Harrison Fire Department and Chief Rob Hursong did an outstanding job making sure our fireworks went off without a problem.
I want thank the following people and or organizations for their help making our event after the parade a huge success: Harrison Joint Color Guard, American Legion SAL Squad 199, LaRosa’s, St John’s Parrish and School, Club 193, Lindsey Snow Cones, Life Spring’s Church, Church on Fire, Balloon Adventures, Civil Air Patrol, Harrison Police Department, Harrison Fire Department, Jim Thomas, Harrison Street Committee, Rozzi Fireworks and The Harrison Press.
It would not be possible to have such a smooth event without the dedication of our Harrison Recreation Committee members and their families.
The committee consists of Kim Vogelgesang, Jim Robertson, Christy Tepe, Tom Pack, Mary Faith Roell, Sally Kerr, Kandi Jaeger, Tony Burkhart, Patty Vancleves and Mayor Joel McGuire.
As always after an event, we have a meeting to go over all suggestions that were given to us to improve next year’s parade and events.
Believe me, we listen to you, and we will look at changes for next year to improve both.

Jean Wilson,
Harrison recreation
coordinator
