It’s just five days to the official start of practice for the 2012 high school football season, but Harrison Wildcats senior Truman Gutapfel already has a big win for himself. The 6’ 4”, 250 lb. senior has been offered a scholarship to attend Boston College next August and in turn gave the school a verbal commitment.

Gutapfel may not sign an official scholarship until next February, which means other schools likely will continue to recruit the defensive end, but Harrison coach Kent McCullough believes Gutapfel will not sway from his decision.

“Truman is excited and happy with his decision,” said McCullough. “If he has the kind of season we expect him to have I’m sure other schools will be after him, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere else.”
