The Mercy Health Mobile Mammography Units will provide free screening mammograms for women at Harrison Primary Care, 10450 New Haven Road, Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Screenings take 15 minutes, and the program has been expanded to include three mobile units.

An appointment is required by calling 513-686-3300 or 1-855-PINK123 (1-855-746-5123).

The American Cancer Society recommends that women have a mammogram every year starting at age 40. Screening mammograms are usually a covered benefit with most insurance carriers.

For women who are uninsured or underinsured (have high deductibles), Mercy provides financial assistance programs available. Call 513-686-3310 for more information.

Expert radiologists read all mammograms and because a second look can mean a second chance, all mammograms are double-checked by the R2 ImageChecker, a computer-aided detection system that detects 23.4 percent more breast cancer than mammography alone. Both patient and physician receive a copy of the results.
